So, this is a thing...

Hi. My name is Mei, and I had to write a 40 page long GDD.

I survived somehow. But lord, did I struggle.

My mission with this is to make your experience writing out your own GDD less frustating and painful than mine was.

One of my struggles is that the templates I found online were focused on gameplay-heavy projects, combat systems, level design, or spreadsheets about enemy AI.

If you’re working on a story-first game and want to keep your brain from melting during pre-production, this might help.

(Also it helps me pay for living expenses and fund my projects. I really appreciate the support.)

I’m nervous about releasing this as I’m not sure this is something anyone else but me needs/needed? But I wish I had this while starting out game dev over 10 years ago, or while I was writing my 40 pages. Maybe someone out there needs it too??

It has sections for story structure, routes, characters, art, UI, technical notes, marketing, budgeting, and way too much more. I tried to make it actually useful, especially if you’re working with a team or planning to pitch.

Enjoy.
